Long time no blog. Yesterday was the day after Christmas, so unlike those of us from North America or Europe, where Boxing Day is observed, Bahians like to spend the day at the beach with family. I ventured out to the Praia de Ipitanga to shoot a little HD video of folks enjoying the 26th of December. Happy Holidays wherever you may be.

Nice vid, Lou. So many people! I notice you lingered longest over the youngsters kicking the soccer ball. Amazing dexterity (if that word can be applied to footwork). Strangely riveting, this beach scene. As you know, we have a lot more clothes on up here on Boxing Day.

I particularly love that image, because there is so much going on: people playing in the blue-green ocean, the four guys kicking the ball around (you should see those who play volleyball soccer style - no hands), a couple of ladies with big hats looking for a place to set up camp, teenagers walking and yakking...and right in the middle of all that activity is a lady sitting in a chair under an umbrella. The chair next to her is vacant. Perhaps her husband went to play with the kids in the water, or maybe he went to fetch some refreshments. No matter. She just seems to be enjoying herself, watching the world pass by...
