The Trade Winds - Seattle, WA

The Trade Winds restaurant on 1st and Wall featuring the Palm Room Lounge, where the gin and tonics would glow from the black light. Entertaining us at the keyboard was local legend Lou Bianchi who among other things composed a song for the 1962 World's Fair entitled, "The Summer of '62". Lou was a great guy, full of fun and energy. One Friday night, while having a glow-in-the-dark g n' t, I said to him, "Hey Lou, how about doing the 'Summer of '62?..." Lou's eyes widened. "The Summer of '62?? How do you know that?? How old are you??... Hey everybody! This guy was in diapers when I wrote this song!!!!" And Lou launched right into the tune, singing it with gusto and enjoying every syllable of the words he wrote.

Clicking, I see that I've already commented on this photo over on your Flickr site. That's a funny sign. They specify "Food" in case you might mistake this for a chandlery or something.
